Outreach Coordinator

Either directly or through delegation, reaches out to local communities/groups/individuals to expand new ally base, engage existing allies, and foster meaningful relationships on behalf of AFLEP. Local community groups include especially business groups, nonprofit advocacy groups and other nonprofit organizations with shared goals of achieving local prosperity.

Coordinates statewide outreach initiatives in priority groups according to an outreach plan incorporated into the campaign’s strategic plan. Works collaboratively with other outreach staff and the team of volunteers.

Assists in engaging and communicating with volunteer outreach team members. Collaborates on messaging and ensures that team members are in alignment with messaging, with materials review by the communication coordinator prior to distribution of materials.

This is a part-time contract position. Total hours not to exceed 25 hours/week Compensation will be at the rate of up to $30/hour + GRT, depending on experience. This position reports to the Executive Director and works collaboratively with one additional Outreach Coordinator.

Qualifications:
Skills: A natural ability/desire to connect people. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to inspire and work well with a team. Ability to identify and reach out to local communities/groups/individuals to engage existing/new allies and to foster meaningful relationships. Self-starter and can work independently remotely while also contributing to and engaging as a team member. Minimum 5 years of experience in organizing and related activities.

Knowledge: Interest in and general understanding of the legislative process, New Mexico’s social, environmental and economic systems, small business and community development. An understanding of banking and finance structures is desirable, not required.
