10th National Farm to Cafeteria Conference

April 21–23, 2020  |  Albuquerque Convention Center, Albuquerque, NM

10th Annual Farm to Cafeteria Conference-ABQ NM

The 10th National Farm to Cafeteria Conference will bring together a diverse group of leaders and practitioners from across the farm to cafeteria movement who are working to source local food for institutional cafeterias, advance equity, and foster a culture of food systems literacy in communities across the country. The 10th National Farm to Cafeteria Conference is hosted by the National Farm to School Network, in collaboration with Local Post the New Mexico Farm to School Alliance.

The conference will be attended by nearly 1,000 food movement practitioners, including: food service professionals, farmers and food producers, educators, policy makers, entrepreneurs, students and youth leaders, representatives from nonprofits and government agencies, public health professionals, and others engaged in the farm to cafeteria movement. The term “farm to cafeteria” encompasses all efforts to bring healthy, locally sourced food and food systems education opportunities into institutional cafeteria settings. This includes, but is not limited to, public and private early care and education settings, K-12 schools, colleges and universities, hospitals, correctional facilities, and other institutions. The conference is designed to appeal to beginners and experienced movement leaders alike. Attendees will come from across the nation, Canada and several other countries, as well from a variety of diverse backgrounds.

The conference program will include 10 workshops tracks in a variety of formats, plenary addresses delivered by leaders in the farm to cafeteria and local food movements, a poster session, resource share fair, networking opportunities, a reception celebrating New Mexico’s food and culture, and 10 hands-on, experiential field trip options.
